git was born during 2020, in the heart of the covid-19 pandemic, a time when everything felt overwhelming. like so many people, the founder was under extreme stress, which led to serious skin issues like eczema and psoriasis. it wasn’t easy, but instead of letting it get the better of her, she went on a journey to figure out what her skin needed to heal.
through research, she realized how important it is to pay attention to the things we put on our skin. she started experimenting with natural fibres, alongside making other lifestyle changes like managing stress, eating better, and using natural remedies. what started as a way to help herself soon evolved into something bigger. it became a brand focused on comfort, wellness, and care.
today, git creates sleepwear in Johannesburg, Gauteng, using fabrics sourced from India and Turkey. everything is designed with wellness in mind, natural fibres and dyes, breathable, and oh-so-soft on the skin. the brand also works exclusively with fair-trade suppliers, supports slow fashion, and is all about celebrating female-owned businesses.
at its core, git is about promoting wellness while making gorgeous, versatile sleepwear you can feel amazing in. it’s also about being mindful to the planet, of the people who make the fabrics, and of how we care for ourselves.
